Announcement of Genzyme Virotech Management - Genzyme Diagnostics and Genzyme Virotech
On 18th November 2010 our holding company Genzyme Corp. announced the sale of its Diagnostics business to Sekisui Chemical. We are pleased to announce today that the transaction of Genzyme Virotech to Sekisui Virotech has been finalised on January 31st, 2011.
Sekisui Chemical is a Japanese IVD-company that holds a successful business relationship with Genzyme Diagnostics for many years now. Most successful products of this collaboration are HDL, LDL and an Influenza Rapid Assay.
Sekisui Chemical will continue the product development, the production as well as the sales and marketing structures of the acquired business unit, to which Genzyme Virotech belongs and to though extend its own business throughout the US and Europe. All employees of Genzyme Virotech are offered employment continuation.
